Pergo Pugnare Alternatus by MonkeydanceGuy Pergo Pugnare Alternatus by MonkeydanceGuy
I really don't like to repeat myself when I'm drawing, due to the fact that I always try to explore the subject/concept as well as I possibly can that one time. Also, when I draw the same thing over and over, I'm not really learning anything new (except for NSFW pictures, because as I have pointed out before, boobies are their own motivator.)

With that explanation out of the way, I will say that there was something about this scene in the movie (Madoka Magica:Eien no Monogatari, go see it its brilliant) that grabbed my attention and never did let go. As such, recreating it once simply wasn't enough, and I felt the need to do it over again. However, I didn't want to just draw the EXACT same picture again, so I changed the angle and Homura's pose to something a little more animated and similar to the elaborate choreography that the other girls were treated to. This actually took a fairly long time, and I'll put the full-on rant of how I did it on Tumblr. There is indeed something special about Madoka's ribbon, because I was originally not going to draw it, but ribbon-toggle-off was like :iconmehplz: and ribbon-toggle-on was like :iconhellzyeahplz:. I'm guessing this effect only applies to people who's seen the show and knows the meaning attached to the ribbon. I was an outsider with no knowledge of the ribbon's backstory (hard to imagine such a person still exists), it would just look like a really out-of-place hair ornament that in no way fits the design scheme of the character :/

I saw the movie transformations, and Homura's is pretty short by comparison. Tho I think they did that because she can control time, and therefore takes less time to transform.

The expression of the color purple as a powerful force is well done!

This is really incredible. More of an in-progress transformation than the first pic, which looked more to me like she was just finishing up... but both are great! You've officially earned yourself a new fan... and when this year's barrage of must-own Figuarts/Figmas is over and paid for, I'll definitely hit you up for a commission. ;)

Well, the first one was pretty generic, being a replica of the movie scene.  I just wanted a one-of-a-kind Homura picture that I can take to my school's printing center and have made into a *life-size* poster XDD

As a collector of Figmas and other Max Factory rubbish, I feel your pain.  As for the commission, you can drop me a note with your request now.  As I don't consider myself skilled/professional enough to do real commissions, I'm more than happy to do requests for my watchers; in fact, my commissions are limited to either tattoos or things I really despise drawing (i.e. things I would only do if I was paid)...  The only downside is that my requests tend to take forever because I usually put my own projects at a higher priority, and I don't like to half-ass anything I do so the requests end up taking forever, but if you request something, I will EVENTUALLY do them.

This picture is amazing the quality on it is epic Homura looks like she's actually powering up into the next level :P and i've seen all 12 episodes and that is the only reason i'm not watching the first two films since they are just repeats of the episodes but i will be watching Rebellion when it comes out on DVD :D (I have to import since i'm in the UK :()

oh nononono, you have to watch the first 2, the new animations are amazing and the studio ordered new soundtracks to go with film, and having watched the show and the movies, I can honestly say that it was more than a blatant fan-milking recap, and it was totally worth it.
